IHOP Macon is open to anyone who would like to come into the Prayer Room or attend any of our other services throughout the week.
For those interested in serving IHOP–Macon as intercessors, on worship teams, and in helps ministries, there are three different levels of involvement, which are defined below. The majority of the operations of the House of Prayer are run by those who have made a commitment to become intercessory missionaries.
Intercessory missionaries are those who have committed to prayer and fasting as the central focus of their life and ministry. Their first priority is to help maintain the prayer sanctuary and to operate in the “Anna anointing.” They raise their own support through partner development. They are the modern day equivalent of Levites and gatekeepers in the tabernacle of David.
Different Designations of Involvement
Full Time Staff
An intercessory missionary who has committed to serving the Lord through 40+ hours of weekly prayer room involvement and helps ministry. These 40+ hours are divided into 20+ hours in the prayer room and 20+ hours in service/team building.
Part Time Staff
An intercessory missionary who has committed to serving the Lord through 24+ hours of weekly prayer room involvement and helps ministry. These 24+ hours are divided into 12+ hours in the prayer room and 12+ hours in service/team building.
Prayer Room Staff
An individual who has committed to serving the Lord through weekly prayer room involvement as time allows. IHOP–Macon Prayer Room Staff members spend 3+ hours in the prayer room weekly and attend an EGS service weekly. They also participate in a monthly All-Staff meeting.
All those interested in becoming part-time or full-time staff are required to complete a 3-month internship prior to making application as a staff member. All those interested in becoming Prayer Room Staff must attend a Vision & Values Worshop. Please see Patricia Dudley for further information about the Intro to IHOP–Macon internship or email us at internship@ihopmacon.org.
Sacred Trust forms are required for all staff. These are commitment forms stating the hours a staff member will serve in the prayer room, on worship teams, and in helps ministry. For more information please see Patricia Dudley.
Getting Involved with the Worship Teams
Worship is a vital part of the International House of Prayer Macon. Even as those in the Tabernacle of David were “trained and skilled music for the Lord” (1 Chr. 25:6-7), we want to pursue a spirit of excellence in our worship. Individuals must meet a reasonable level of giftedness in order to be placed on a worship team. We have a process for trying out to participate on a worship team. During this time, you will have the opportunity to play and /or sing with IHOP-Macon staff worship leaders and musicians. You will also have an opportunity to interview with members of the worship committee. Please see Jason Carr to schedule a time to tryout.
In order to join a worship team, you must have a spirit of commitment to IHOP-Macon and to the prayer movement. To play/sing on a worship team during intercession sets, you must commit to at least 2 hours/week in the prayer room above the time serving on the team. You will be required to attend a Harp & Bowl Workshop to gain an understanding of the process of the model and how it relates to the Word. There will be other opportunities to play/sing in other types of sets – Devotional sets, Worship with the Word sets, and during Encounter God Services.
If approved, you will be able to join a worship team as there is need. The Worship Director will work with you to find a good fit for you according to your availability and open positions on worship teams. Each individual worship leader is responsible for inviting and coordinating his or her worship team. For more information please see Jason Carr.

Testimonies
The Intro to IHOP-Macon Internship has renewed the way I view God. Before the internship, I had a tough time praying. I distanced myself from God because I thought He was mostly disappointed and angry with me. But as an intern I spent time before God– just Him and I. The presence of Jesus changed my life. As I allowed the Holy Spirit to wash my mind with the Word, I saw that God was a gracious Father who enjoys being with me. He desires for me to ask Him my questions and He is faithful to answer each one of them.
